Overall, I liked this film, but I definitely prefer the older ones! The Amazing Spider-man just lacks so much heart that the older ones had! Have you seen the Amazing Spider-man 2? If so; what do you think of it?
***** definitely entertaining, but the whole thing felt like a cash grab--the older ones had so much heart, like you said, and it seemed like they were actually trying to make a great movie, which this one didn't seem like. I haven't seen it yet, after the mediocre reviews and people saying the first was better, I definitely have no urge to see it. What did u think of it?
Skootish Well you're right! The only reason why it was rebooted in the first place was because Sony didn't want to lose the rights to Spider-man! It wasn't made, because they felt it would be good to retell the tale. I thought The Amazing Spider-man 2 was a mixed bag. It was definitely fun & entertaining, but it was way too over-filled. The Villains were not that well done, although the Green Goblin was very well played! The Rino could have been removed from it entirely & it wouldn't have made a difference. He was so thrown in there, for the sake of advertisement! Overall though, I did have fun watching it, & there is a lot to like about it, but it definitely has some big issues, & it's not even like Spider-man 3 were there's so many really great things, but still really flawed.
BTW, have you seen the second Hobbit film, the Desolation of Smaug? If so; what do you think of it?
I agree that Spider-man 3 is Underrated! It has some serious problems with the script for sure, but it's still a very entertaining film, & there is a lot of good things in it.
Very underrated! Does have problems, but people focus on the problems and don't focus on the lots of great things about it! I haven't seen the Desolation of Smaug yet. Do you recommend it?
I agree! The good things are overlooked so often! Yes, I would recommend the DOS! It's very good! I prefer the first one, but the second does have more action. Going by your review of the first one, it seems you thought the firsrt half was really slow. The pacing of the second one is a bit faster, except for when they're around lake-town.

***** Yeah I definitely will. And I'm not sure, for the first one I saw it because my friends wanted to, so it gave me an excuse to see it (and I was pleasantly surprised), but I haven't really gotten around to seeing DOS, though I do want to. I'll definitely watch it whenever it's on HBO or something.

I agree on a Bug's Life. I thought tat was really Un-original & quite week actually.
Cars was definitely also one of the weakest, but it had a good plot, good character acting, and it had heart. Brave lacked all of the above imo.
What's so great about Cars btw? Sorry if I sound rude, but I have a hard time getting that people prefer Cars over this movie...
I respect opinions, but I can't see how people think it has bad, damn even "awful" character development. And one more thing, honestly, I think Pixar in the past has been slightly overrated. Don't get me wrong, I love Pixar. But movies like A bug's life doesn't have completely original ideas for a story either, so to say that Pixar have always been "out there" making crazy original stuff is simply not true. Their storylines atleast are often quite used stories but with a different take.
Some off the top of my head are Killing them Softly, Dark Shadows, and Brave (Wasn't a horrible movie but was a huge let down)

I'm not really sure. I guess the ridiculous hype over the Avengers made me dislike it more, but I gave it a good rating because the movie was everything it was supposed to be.
Out of interest; if you like The Hobbit more than the Avengers, wy did you give the Avengers an 8.5, but the Hobbit only a 7.5?
